Twin Boys Nursery

I love to decorate and when it came time to decide on a theme for the boys nursery I could not find anything I liked. The baby animals, cars and sports were cute but I wanted to be different and use bright colors... not the same ‘ol pastels that are used in most nursery rooms. So I decided to take matters in to my own hands.

We went with my favorite lime green and bright blue. I added some brown and white to go with it. I also wanted to go a neutral theme so I went with shapes and if I do say so myself it turned out pretty darn cute. I made the valance, quilts, crib skirt, and decorative frames for the wall. I then added my special decorating touch.

Now that the boys are a year old I have added some more cute pictures of them and made a cute banner for their birthday that matches their room perfectly so we hung that up too. I LOVE the bright fun colors and the boys have loved looking at everything.

Fun Fall Hair

10 years ago… Wow I can’t believe it has been 10 years since I began school to be what I had always wanted to be. Hair School was an adventure and I LOVED it! I met my best friend there and learned so many life lessons.

I worked in a salon for 8 ½ years and I loved it! In March of this year I moved salons. I work at Marie & Company Salon in Draper and I am enjoying it. Being close to home has been wonderful! Being a Mom is my first and most important priority but I love doing hair and I am so glad I have had the opportunity to do it. It is the best job for a Mom to have. Making my own schedule has
been so great!

The last couple of weeks I have done some fun hair..

I had a client that wanted some pink hair and I LOVE how it turned out.

Another client of mine was ready for a change so we cut about 10 inches off of her hair and freshened up her highlights. It turned out so good and
is a fun change!

I had another client that was ready to be dark for the fall and we trimmed a few inches off. Her “lob” style looks so good on her and we love it.

I love doing hair and helping people feel fashionable and beautiful.

Fall is in the Air

I love when the seasons change and it is time to pull out all of your fun decorations. I LOVE going to places like Wood Creations or Wood Connections and picking out my new decorations. These places are the best… they do all the hard work for you and leave all the creativity to you!

The displays they have of their products are so cute but I love making them my own. That way no one has the same decorations as I do J So with Fall in the air I thought it was time to make my stop at the store and to get creating. I love me some candy corns so that was my first pick and then of course nothing says fall like good ‘ol “FALL.”J I love how they turned out and I can’t wait for my next wood décor project!

Creating Cards

Do you ever go to the store to find a birthday card and find the perfect one just to realize it costs about five dollars? I don’t like the word hate but I hate looking through all those cards most of them are dumb and super expensive.

We have over 20 nieces and nephews that live all over the US and we want to be able to give them all a little something for their birthday. Who doesn’t like getting a birthday card in the mail especially when you were a little kid. Right?  We decided to send each one a birthday card with a little cash surprise but we can’t afford to buy an expensive card to go with it and plus they don’t appreciate the card as much.

When we were starving college students a few years ago I tried buying cards at the local dollar store, which worked for a little while. When you have so many cards to give you kind of lose track of who you gave what card to because their cards don’t really change too often. So this is why I started one of my favorite hobbies… Creating Cards!

I was a scrapbooker back in the day so I have quite a few supplies. The two things I often go to the local craft store for are stickers and the blank cards. I never forget to use the coupons that they ALWAYS have (anything to make the cards even less expensive.) I’m a sticker girl so that’s what I stick with.. haha no pun intended, I just haven’t gotten into the rubber stamps… at all! We have saved a lot of money by creating cards and I have loved making them! We have a few birthdays coming up so it was time to stock my stash of cards...

Fashion meets 4 Wheels

I always heard that opposites attract and I wondered if that was true. Wouldn’t you want someone with similar interests?

Well, when we first met my first thought was TALL, dark, and handsome! We became great friends but He thought I was too “high maintenance” for him so friends was good enough for a long while. What can I say I LOVE all things fashion. I LOVE clothes, shopping, styling hair, photography, decorating and being creative in any way I can. He is an outdoors man, adventurer, and is THE “Mr. Handyman.” He enjoys getting dirty and all things on and involved with 4 wheels.

Yes, We are very opposite in our interests but we have been able to learn so much from each other and have been able to grow in many ways. As the years have gone on we have become interested in each others interests. Putting my creativity and his ability to build things together has made us a great team! What you will find on this blog is what we enjoy doing in the little spare time we have. Our first priority is our precious little boys (which you may be lucky enough to see funny things from them) but every now and then we find time to do our hobbies.  Hopefully this will help your creative juices flow or help you fix something. ENJOY!
