Creating Cards

Do you ever go to the store to find a birthday card and find the perfect one just to realize it costs about five dollars? I don’t like the word hate but I hate looking through all those cards most of them are dumb and super expensive.

We have over 20 nieces and nephews that live all over the US and we want to be able to give them all a little something for their birthday. Who doesn’t like getting a birthday card in the mail especially when you were a little kid. Right?  We decided to send each one a birthday card with a little cash surprise but we can’t afford to buy an expensive card to go with it and plus they don’t appreciate the card as much.

When we were starving college students a few years ago I tried buying cards at the local dollar store, which worked for a little while. When you have so many cards to give you kind of lose track of who you gave what card to because their cards don’t really change too often. So this is why I started one of my favorite hobbies… Creating Cards!

I was a scrapbooker back in the day so I have quite a few supplies. The two things I often go to the local craft store for are stickers and the blank cards. I never forget to use the coupons that they ALWAYS have (anything to make the cards even less expensive.) I’m a sticker girl so that’s what I stick with.. haha no pun intended, I just haven’t gotten into the rubber stamps… at all! We have saved a lot of money by creating cards and I have loved making them! We have a few birthdays coming up so it was time to stock my stash of cards...
